Social Action

We as Jews, and as Temple Beth Hillel congregants, are committed to improving our world, Tikkun Olam.  Temple Beth Hillel social action occurs in many individual ways and in some group way.  Each of us contributes time, prayers, and money to a wonderful array of worthy causes – local and otherwise.  As a congregation, we are an active and found member of GRIP, the Greater Richmond Interfaith Program, providing housing, meals, and resource services to the underprivileged of the greater West County area.

Many of us are yearning to do still more.  Our Social Action Committee (SAC) is looking for new members who want to make a difference.

Currently the Committee is working with the Adult Education Committee to kick-off an event on Environment, Climate Change, and Jews.   We, as Jews, understand that the world is our G-d given home, nature is the physical manifestation of the holy, and all of us human beings are responsible to ensure that we do not destroy the holy, our Home.

This educational and call-to-action piece on the environment will be only one part of the TBH Social Action Committee’s work.
If you are interested in contributing your time, ideas, and energy please contact the temporary SAC chair, Doug Freifeld.

Make a difference.  Heal the world!
